Kurashiki Washu Senior High School was established in 2004 as a new type of public school, aiming to meet the needs of a changing society. It has a 'Future Planning Course' and a credit-based system. Students can select from 8 academic groups to which they belong in their second and third year and study according to their abilities, interests and future career goals. It has no school district. Therefore it recruits students from all over Okayama Prefecture.
